Kansas Foreclosures

Kansas Foreclosures - Kansas City

Kansas Foreclosures for the month of December stood a 0.053 percent. That is a lot less than the unfortunate totals being presented by some of the other states in the county. It is even considerably less than the numbers of some of the neighboring states to Kansas, such as Colorado where the percentages were at 0.254 percent over the same month. There are a lot of wide-open spaces in Kansas and very few large cities so, as you might expect, the majority of the real estate foreclosure going on here is either in very small towns or the few large cities. There is not a lot of in between and if you do a little research on it, you will find that the majority of the property that has fallen into foreclosure since the start of the current crisis will be located in the larger cities where people have over extended themselves to the point of not being able to recover when they lost a job. With few exceptions will you find, at least here, the property that was simply a case of long neglected mortgage payments that accumulated slowly over a period of months or years, as is the case that traditionally caused foreclosure prior to the present time. Most of these foreclosures went quickly and as a direct result of job loss or some other economic issue. Kansas does have a fairly stable foreclosure rate by the standards we have seen lately and by all indications those rates should stay fairly consistent over the foreseeable future and is not expected to take a huge jump unless there are other unforeseen issues that happen to change the unemployment rate in the state. So as it stands with the foreclosure issue, Kansas, as a state stands to fair better than a lot of other states.
